Circus souls...

'Weirded out' is the words that i'm going to start with for this post...

I always loved going to the circus, it always smelt funny, but it was still cool to see. My favourite part was seeing the animals, but never once did i think, are animals even supposed to do that?

Then all of a sudden i started seeing out crys on web pages about how wrong the circus is...i'm very critical and i 'm not the type of a person to read something and convert, i look into it with a fine tooth comb, cause u never know what freeflows (people that think the whole world is a evil conspiricy) came up with this thought .

Ok so lets start with the basic thought...

Is it cruel to make animals do tricks?

Unfortunatley, i'm going to have to say yes....yes i do believe training a dog to play dead isn't how they were supposed to live...animals after all just want to live a natural loving life. I always ask myself one easy question, it's easy for me as i don't feel that animals are below me, i find them as important as i do humans, they to feel pain and bleed. Right so here is my easy question...

"WOULD I LIKE IT IF..."

Simple as that. Ok so lets try and explain...

'WOULD I LIKE IT IF...someone made me do tasks i find hard to do.'.......i don't really like to be made to do anything, so i would have to say NO.
'WOULD I LIKE IT IF...someone hit me because i couldn't do the task'......NO i'd totally lose my temper.
'WOULD I LIKE IT IF...i was constantley surrounded by people i'm scared of?' NO i'd be freaked out all day.

The reality is this all happens all day long at circuses. All-day-long. Not only are they kept in dirty cages and tied down but they are also hit and forced in any way nessesary to do a simple trick that we all blindly clap to.

I had a look at the chinese animal olympics in Shanghia in 2006...it's scary that these animals are doing this stuff and how they teach them to do it is what upsets me most.

Look at every circus that happens in your town...it's all fun and games for us but for the animals there, life is hell, there scars are enough to prove it.

I now feel so uninformed, so stupid that every time i watched the animals do tricks when i was young i thought that being in the circus was a lovable and fun place to be...i forgot that this is a job for some people and animals shouldn't have a 6-7pm job.

If you don't believe me here check it out:
There's a video on this page: http://www.circuses.com/
On this page are pic's of the animal olympics ( please note that all the animals are tied up, is that fair? ) :
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-407693/Un-bear-able-Chinas-cruel-animal-Olympics-reach-new-heights.html

I found out this cool thing i can do...

I can take a picture with a simple page and send it to PETA and it'll go towards the protest of animal abuse in circuses, especially elephants...they have a LONG memory....imagine your memorys being filled with pain...YUCK i'd hate that.

Ok so i'm going home to take the pic and i'll add it here to show you guys that it's simple to do the right thing. Very simple :)

Any who gotta dash, i'm off to go pick up my book.. A kind diet by Alicia Silverstone. It's taken 11 days to get here....eek i'm so excited, it better be good, but i'll update you all.

Kind Outty's

A carrot a day keeps the doctor away...

Hi all

So i was reading and it is said that Vegan's live longer than Meat eaters! It also says that you lose weight and become healthier when you chose a vegan life style....So i've decided to put it to the test.

On my Blog i have put all my health records on the minimal stuff, i've dated it to when i was a Vegetarian, i'm then going to check after i've become a Vegan for awhile to see if what they say is reallly true. That way i'll have proof, feel free to check it out to.

Kind Regards

Got my butt in butter :)

Hi all

So I'm a huge baker, in fact it's my only favourite past time! So since the Vegan way of life is around the corner for me i thought i should start prepping myself for the change...

I got a egg re placer from PnP at Brightwater commons, in fact it was about R25...so that was OK. Then it came to butter...

I phoned Fruits and Roots in Bryanstan, they didn't have. I paniced then calmly phoned Fresh Earth in Emmerentia, they didn't have either but low and behold i got a recipe for butter!!!

Right all you have to do is make sure you have 70% coconut oil and then 30% hemp oil or nut oil or basically any oil since it's the coconut oil that's the key...It's apparently the one that hardens the mix to make it a block of butter. Cool huh!

So ill test out the butter bit and take a pick to show you guys, ill have to get it this weekend. Sometimes i wish i had a house wife life where i can go and shop and create masterpiece vegan cakes, yay.

Oh bye the way i contacted a awesome lady named Sarah, she's going to post me some bumper stickers about animal beliefs she stands for, for free! Ok so the ones she has are: 'Spay today,Save a Life Tomorrow" and "Thou Shalt not Kill, Go Vegetarian"

So what i was thinking is if any of you guys feel the same way about these issues then i can organise you some....let me know. I don't think I'll use the Vegetarian one cause I'm planning to go full hog! Bring it on.

Oh i found out that some cigarettes are tested on animals....so if life wasn't much of a challenge it sure is going to be now....I'm going to find out about what smokes test and I'll let you all know.

We need to stop these crimes and all it takes is one small step in the right direction, i'm just being eager and i'm taking a huge step...a giant leap :)

Going home now.
Outty

Warren Robertson

Hi all

I went to a comedy show in the new casino in Sandton and a guy named Mark Robertson was MC.

He aproached me and asked for me to give him a subject to write a poem on, so ofcourse i chose a hard one...animal testing.

I waited for him to make some ridicul about animals but he said the complete opposite, he totally was on our Animal rights activist side, it was great seeing some one make a form of comedy of a very dull subject.

Here's his poem:

Animal testing is not funny
thing to subject on a little bunny
his twitvhy nose, his glossy fur
are far to cute, i'm sure you concur

And i agree that testings wrong
why cant we all just get along
Yet men in coats take animals behind closed doors
and press a pencil in their paws

And make them write, count and read
without any of the lessons they need
And people call it a dilema
when they score lower marks than Malema.

You guys should see him, he definatley kept the audience in tow ( although my in laws to be constantley attach themselves to shows).

On another note i drank a cup of milo with soy milk thinking i was in one way doing a step in the right direction, i then decided to check the ingrediants of milo...MILK MILK and more MILK.

So that's it bye bye milo.

Some times when i feel like i'm losing out on the things i enjoy, i just remind myself one thing.

'BEING VEGETARIAN IS A WAY OF LIFE, BUT BEING VEGAN IS A PROTEST"

So i'm staying true to my soul.
I ordered Alicia Silverstone's book 'the kind diet' as i'm trying to get tasty meals to try ease my self in. For those of you who want to buy it, here's a suggestion. Don't by it at Exclusive books, it's like R400 and something Rand...WTF...when did the liberation of reading a book become so expensive?
So on Kalahari.net i got it for R290.
Now it's just waiting for it to be delivered...tick tock tick tock....eeee...i'm so excited.

K gotta dash
