Why do humans think they superior to animals?

Ok, so the reason why i am bringing this up is because i get this constant conclusion from people that has this point of view....I could give them every fact under the sun that will prove that they are 100% wrong in the way they feel about animals, yet my long speech with graphic pictures leads to the same ignorant answer...

"But they are just animals!"

Seriously it is the most frustrating thing when people cannot see that animals also have a right on this earth and that they are equally and sometimes even more superior than humans...now due to the fact of my constant confusion keeping me up at night i decided to figure out where all this - "I'm better than animals", bull shit, comes from ( i apologise for my crude language).

Ignorance has been around for years and in fact it was even worse in the past...so i decided to start there. The past....

What in the past allowed us to think that we are superior to animals? Now i hope you all don't take offence but i decided to pry into religion because A LOT of peoples strong mind sets have been formed due to religion, so yup that where i started.

Hindu's are a prime example - still today Hindu's that follow the tantra way of life sacrifice animals for the gods to get their blessing...keep in mind these people are far and few between as this is a small section of the Hindu's religion but still...why on earth would you hold an animal down and ritualistically kill it and enjoy it...WTF...is there something wrong with these killers, the simple answer to this is a no brainer - YES!
In fact there was inscriptions from the Gutpa period telling people that they had to bring animals to the king for sacrifice...they got rewarded for it!!!!

So to able to sacrifice an animal you must think that you are higher than it? Whether the kings or gods told you that animal sacrifice is good at the end of the day you personally had to hold down the animal and kill it whilst celebrating as its blood is pouring down onto the floor....if that's not enough sometimes they even paint themselves with the blood! Sicko's - i think yes.

Christians of the Greek inheritance used to kill oxes during Dipolieia ( a certain festival)....the reason being....hunters used to feel bad about killing another living being for food so they killed one at a festival with other people to not feel so bad about it....HELLO...what kind of sense does that make?

Ok so lets drop religion for a bit...

What about the idea that we are on top of the food chain....that can cause some major ego issues in the meat eating authority's of today -

Well here's a news flash we have screwed up our food chain BIG TIME so don't go crying about how you are on top of the food chain when with the very small authority that you had, you have managed to ruin every one's lives...seriously....the world is in chaos when it comes to starvation and you know why....the food chains managing director decided to go against what nature does and try his own way...WHY? I'll tell you why...

By cutting down rain forests for space for cattle you have totally screwed up bio-diversity, those frogs and insects that have lost their homes have also lost their lives and that doesn't just make us short of a couple of frogs, no, it cuts down biodiversity which we need in order to live...doesn't anyone get bothered that when a person cuts down a tree they are actually taking away some of your breath of life...yup well Macdonalds have made the decision to have you die with out any oxygen to your lungs but for the life you had ( which with this much damage being done, it won't be that long) you were stuffed full with juicy bloody flesh...mmm...

You know whats also stupid...if we cut down the amount of animals we produce for meat eaters we can actually feed millions of starving HUMANS...
But on the other hand if we keep that amount of cattle there, they will actually eat all the way through our top soil....and for those who say ( wah wah I'm on top of the food chain) if they eat away our topsoil..NOTHING WILL GROW! So say goodbye to crops and to grass for the new unhappy cattle, it'll all be barren with no nutrients....just like the desert sand...still enjoying your theory?

Right so lets sum this up.....

TO THOSE WHO THINK THEY ARE SUPERIOR TO ANIMALS :

RELIGIOUSLY THE WORLD HAS ADVANCED, HARDLY NO ONE SACRIFICE'S ANIMALS AND IF THEY DO THEY ARE CONSIDERED BARBARIC IN THE WESTERN WORLD, I WOULD KNOW THEY DO IT IN MY COUNTRY AND THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS THAT FOLLOW IS HUGE.

ECOLOGICALLY, WE ARE NOT ON TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN FOR THE FOOD CHAIN NEEDS ALL FOOD TO BE ABLE TO RUN SMOOTHLY THEREFORE WE ARE EQUALLY NEEDED, IF WE WERE ON TOP WE WOULD BE ABLE TO SURVIVE QUITE HAPPILY ON OUR OWN LIL MISSION WITH OUT THE FROGGIES.

SO MY SENTIMENT IS THIS -

YOU THINK YOU ARE SUPERIOR, FINE, YOU CAN GO ON TRYING TO BELIEVE THAT BUT BELIEVE YOU ME, YOU WILL FAIL HORRIBLY...AND YOU WILL END US ALL.

Every living being should have a beautiful, healthy, happy life....that's humans, dogs, cats, dolphins, fish, frogs, cows, pigs, rats, rabbits, chickens....and i can go on for hours.

Share the love and land and we will all benefit!

Kindness and so much Hope that I'm gonna pop.

What are the safe choices in the world of animal testing?

I talked about animal testing the other day and i explained as to what is tested on animals, but the fact is i never told you what you could use instead, so thanks to Mishka this is my first line of business this morning...

Right Phew i dunno where to start umm...ok lets go by category -

Facial care - You can have expensive or cheap options in this category, some people find it necessary to use the best and most expensive and others would like just a simple face cream :) the options really suit the person let me give you a few examples -

Dermologica -                 i love their face creams...the textures of their stuff is amazing
Clinique -                        i actually started off on this house when i first started using face cream and
                                       if you look
at Legally blond the first one, she uses their products too :)
La Mer -                        If your really coughing up...try this
Clarins -                         There face creams are very rich ( moisturizing) so watch out
Estee Lauder -               They are as safe as a button
Essie -                           Yes they make cosmetics, plus their nail polish is safe too.

Make up - It is essential to most ladies....except for my friend Candice, but for me i cannot go a day with out foundation, plus i love creating art on my face and enhancing different facial features, it's fun :) Lets have a look what is caring -

M.A.C -                         This is my favourite product, I've been using this for years! However i don't use
                                       their foundation.
Revlon -                          Now i use their foundation, colour stay, it's perfect for full coverage :)
Almay -                           This is also a good choice, I've never used it though.
Avon -                             If you have ever seen those cute ladies with their brochures, they would be
great to target, plus their good are very affordable.
Bobbi Brown -                This is M.A.C's competition...

Body goodies -               I love creams and lotions and bath goodies, a good exfoliate goes all the way
for me, so when i heard about all these nasty products i freaked and thought i
would NEVER have a good scrubby again :( ...but there's loads of hope.

Nivea -                          I use their body cream, they also have a facial range too.
Crab Tree & Evelyn -    They have loads of stuff and their store is huge in Sandton, but keep in mind
                                      that they are pricey.
Disney Princesses -        They have them at Dischem and i love the bubble bath, it smells so nice :)
Mitchum -                      They have great anti-persperant's and they give such good coverage.
Paul Mitchel -                I've never used their shampoo but i heard its good, i get my shampoo from Carlton
they have a great organic range by Davines but they are pricey...R 100 and
something for the shampoo, i feel it's necessary to splash out since I've gone
back to being blond - it's very high maintenance!
Aquafresh -                   My boyfriend Matthew is obsessed with getting a new toothbrush every 2 months
and he loves the vibrating ones, we use this brand.
Piz buin -                      This sun cream is a little pricey but boy does it give you an amazing tan.

House hold cleaning goods - These were the most difficult to find, we went through EVERYTHING and then thanks to Pick 'N Pay we found all our replacements, we started of with a few ranges and then eventually settled for the organic goods from PnP, I'm also a green peace freak so this was right up my alley. The only thing i cannot find is furniture polish so if any one find some please tell what the brand is!

PnP Green Range -     I LOVE THIS RANGE!! They have cute green bottles and they keep with the
colour scheme through out their range, they have EVERY cleaning product
                                  imaginable.
Ajax -                        We started off on this range and loved it, it was guilty free instead of Sunlight liquid.
Max -                         They only produce soap powder but it's great stuff!

Right that's all i can think of, the trick to all of this is -

1. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT THERE ARE OTHER PRODUCTS OUT THEIR THAT ARE MAYBE BETTER THAN THE ONE YOU USE! TRY SOMETHING NEW.

2. DON'T GET SUCKED INTO ADVERTISEMENTS, ITS THEIR JOB TO MAKE THEIR PRODUCT LOOK APPEALING, HOWEVER IT'S NOT THEIR JOB TO TELL YOU THE SUFFERING THAT IS INVOLVED IN MAKING IT.

3. TAKE THE LIST OF THE COMPANIES THAT TEST ON ANIMALS WITH YOU TO THE SHOPS.

4. IT'S YOUR RIGHT AS A CONSUMER TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IS IN A PRODUCT AND WHO MAKES IT, HOWEVER PEOPLE HAVE FORGOTTEN TO LOOK THEY JUST BELIEVE WHAT ADVERTISING TELLS THEM, LOOK AT THE BACK OF THE PRODUCT, THE NAME OF THE COMPANY IS USUALLY AT THE BOTTOM OF ALL THE WRITING.

5. DON'T GET LOST, VISUALIZE THE SUFFERING WHEN YOU PICK UP THAT PALMOLIVE SOAP, IT'LL MAKE YOU STAY CLEAR...HABITS ARE HARD TO BREAK, STICK WITH IT AND SOON IT'LL BE YOUR NEW HABIT.

This is all simple...I'm not going to tell you its a breeze it takes a lot of persistence but it really will help save millions of innocent lives, you have the power to do that.

The other thing that is very easy is going to Vegan stores, keep in mind that all of the products in these stores are organic....look at my guilty free shopping places on the side of my posts, it has a few places you can get goods from.

Go to the bottom of my blog and do the animal testing cruelty page :)
Well i hope that helps...remember if you need anything more let me know...

Kindness and Hope

Animal Testing....

So Sarah brought  up the fact of how important it is for people not to use product that are tested on animals.

This single cause is why i became vegetarian ages ago. This is what alarmed me and this was the reason why for the first time ever i started thinking of how cruel humans are to animals and from that day on, i never ate any animal meat and then before you knew it i was here Vegan and proud :)

PETA did a list of companies that test on animals -
http://www.peta.org/living/beauty-and-personal-care/companies/default.aspx

But what i did, was, i took all the products that are available in South Africa and handed it out at my house warming party, but i told you about that ages ago....in fact i think it might of been my very first post.....WOW it's been a long time!

Anyway, i thought I'd do a bit of a revision, so here are the companies that test on animals and a list of a few of the products they produce....personally i avoid these companies like a plague! Now if you had to ask any of my friends, they would tell you i am a product....mmm...there's no better way to say it - a product wh&#e!

I LOVE PRODUCTS!!! Stuff for my hair, for my nails, for the house, for my face, for my body, for EVERYTHING!!! EEK the thought of a new product with new 'extra special's' (new innovations) wow boy does it make me sweat.  So you can imagine when i found out that my brilliant moisturiser was tested on monkeys and rabbits and dogs! I nearly puked...i threw out everything, it was thousands and thousands of rands but i just couldn't deal with putting my face cream on and thinking of those animals...

IT WAS LIKE I WAS PUTTING PURE SUFFERING ON MY FACE....

Every time i squirted it out of the bottle, the thought of the screams that must come from the labs gave me a chill.

Its hard though, every time an advert comes on with the latest and greatest my heart says -"YAY NEW PRODUCTS" But then i think of these pictures and sometimes i feel like throwing things at the TV.

BOYCOTT THESE COMPANIES!!! -

Procter & Gamble -Gilette Co                      Always                     Max factor
                                      Pampers                        Vicks                       Old Spice
                                      Fabreeze                       Head&Shoulders      Olay
                                      Pantene                         Tide

L'oreal  -                       Garnier                          Lacome                      Maybelline
Vichy                            Giorgio Armani            Ralph Lauren Fragrances
                                     Red Ken

Unilever -                      Axe                               Lux                             Sunsilk
                                     Dove                             Ponds                         Vaseline

Church & Dwight -   Close up                        Nair                            Mentadent

Johnson & Johnson -Listerine                         Neutrogene                 Clean & Clear

S.C Johnson -                 Glade                             Raid                            Pledge
                                      Windex

Rickitt Benckiser -          Veet                               Easy off

Clorox -                         Glad

Bic Corporation

And no the most important thing of all - THERE ARE PRODUCTS OUT THERE OTHER THAN THESE, IF YOU NEED HELP FINDING THEM ASK ME :)

So when i go shopping all i do is check the back of every product and read who makes it...simple huh.

PLEASE TRY IT!

Ok so I'm off to ponder on campaigns...

Have a fabulous day and try doing one thing for the animal kingdom even if it is changing your soap ;)

Kindness and STAX of Hope.
